Tabitha Brown and Kandi Burruss are heading to Fairmont Crest. The Emmy-winning host, actress and author and the Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and actress will appear in a special episode of CBS’ daytime drama Beyond the Gates.

Brown will play Tia Allen, the host of a television special celebrating Dani Dupree, organized by Dani’s best friend, Pamela Curtis. The event brings together Dani’s family to celebrate her life, but the occasion takes an unexpected turn when a few surprise guests arrive. Among them is Kalista Kilroy, played by Burruss, Dani’s first modeling agent. Her appearance turns the celebration into an uncomfortable trip down memory lane, suggesting that Dani’s past may complicate what was meant to be a joyful occasion.

Brown’s appearance comes as the beloved entertainer navigates an unexpected health setback. After undergoing robotic hip replacement surgery, Brown recently shared that a ruptured spinal disc had complicated her recovery and delayed her planned return to work. Known for inviting fans into both the joyful and challenging parts of her life, the Emmy-winning host, actress and author has continued to share her journey with her signature optimism, reminding her community to give themselves grace when life doesn’t go according to plan. Her appearance on Beyond the Gates gives viewers an opportunity to see the multifaceted entertainer on screen.

Burruss, meanwhile, has spent decades building a multifaceted entertainment career. She first rose to prominence as a member of the Grammy-winning R&B group Xscape before establishing herself as an accomplished songwriter, penning hits for some of music’s biggest names. She later introduced herself to a new generation of viewers through reality television, including her longtime role on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In addition to music and television, Burruss has pursued entrepreneurial ventures and acting opportunities, continuing to expand her footprint.

The pair are in good company when it comes to notable guest appearances on Beyond the Gates. The series has welcomed several familiar faces to Fairmont Crest, including The Real Housewives of Potomac stars Karen Huger, Gizelle Bryant and Wendy Osefo, along with CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Jennifer Holliday. Their appearances have brought recognizable personalities from reality television, journalism and music into the fictional world of the daytime drama.

The guest casting also comes as Beyond the Gates continues to build its presence in daytime television. The daytime soap, which follows the lives, relationships and secrets of a wealthy Black community, has earned 15 Daytime Emmy Award nominations. CBS has also renewed the drama for Seasons three and four, securing its future on the network and signaling continued investment in the series.

Since its debut, Beyond the Gates has offered viewers a daytime drama centered on Black characters, family dynamics, ambition and the complications that come with life behind the gates of an affluent community. Brown and Burruss’ appearances add two more recognizable names to its expanding roster of guest talent, with their characters set to intersect with Dani’s story in a special episode that gives her a blast from the past.

Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS from 2 to 3 p.m. ET and is available to stream on Paramount+. Paramount+ Premium subscribers can watch live through their local CBS affiliate’s live feed or stream episodes on demand, while Paramount+ Essential subscribers can watch episodes on demand the day after they air.
